About Cheryl

A dancer first. A Pilates teacher since 1999.

“I first came across Pilates when I was 13 at a dance summer school in Chichester. At 16 years old I went to dance college in London and that's when I really started to learn Pilates, it really helped me to gain the strength to do the ballet that I loved.”

My teacher, Conchita Del Campo, at London Studio Centre, really believed I could be a good Pilates teacher and trained me up to cover her classes whilst on holiday. The classes included matwork and studio work, including the reformer and cadilac.

After training I went on to teach a number of classes in London whilst waiting for my first professional dance job. After that, I balanced my time between teaching Pilates and dancing all over the world. There is no doubt Pilates has helped me to stay injury free during tough dancing tours.

I set up my Pilates classes in the local area in 2008 starting with just two classes and now I have 14!

I love learning and like to look at the whole picture when trying to help clients, I believe our minds can have a big influence on how our body responds to stress, pain or illness. Pilates is a great way to improve general fitness and wellbeing, improve back pain, neck and shoulder pain and great for balance.

I am a member of the Body Control Pilates Association, qualified to teach all levels of ability from beginners to advanced, and I am fully insured, so you're in safe hands!

Testimonials

In their own words.

“Every term you concentrate on strengthening a different body area & the circuit class on last week of term is a great challenge, I could also call it fun! I actually think your classes are the best I have EVER been to, always keeping alive our interest in Pilates.”

Sylvia

“Cheryl you make each class a real pleasure, always something different to try, we both feel our core strength has dramatically improved and even our balance (that's saying something for me!!!!).”

Graham & Suze

“You are my 3rd Pilates teacher. Each teacher quite different! However my hips love the classes and if they are happy so am i! I look forward to them and consider them an important part of my week.”

Ros

“On my enrolment form you asked what I hoped to achieve from my classes with you. Well all I hoped has happened and more. My core muscles exist again and I can keep up with my grandson!”

Suzy

“Truth to tell, I've never really enjoyed exercising but I'm getting to that 'use it or lose it' stage so something had to be done! Lucky for me I found Cheryl and now - amazingly - I find myself actually look forward to my weekly session.”
